Conifer Park is looking for an Admissions Specialist to join our intake team in Glenville, NY. This is a temporary 3-6 month position with the possibility of going permanent.

Hours are Tuesday through Saturday 8:00am to 4:30pm!


  • Greets and admits all incoming patients, family, referents and completes appropriate paperwork as needed and assigned
  • Coordinates transfer of luggage, faxes face sheet and copy of insurance card to pharmacy
  • Collects deposit and issues receipt of payment when indicated
  • Meets with patient to review all data entry for accuracy and make corrections as necessary
  • Completes admission screens in Meditech and files entry
  • Meets with patient to explain all consents for release of information, witness patient signature and co-sign consent form
  • Reviews each consent form for accuracy and make changes as indicated
  • Copies appropriate admission documents and makes packets for Business Office and HIM
  • Assumes reception duties as needed and assigned
  • Coordinates transfer of luggage to the luggage room
  • Reviews and corrects previous day's admission paperwork if indicated
  • Completes next day preparation as needed
  • Submits intake and records to intake specialist or administrative staff for review and disposition
  • Performs personal searches on all admissions, LOA's and special requests
  • Completes vital signs, UDS, height, weight
  • Documents accurately in EMR, transports patients to their unit, assists with updating patient status board
  • Collects all necessary intake information
  • Collects all necessary insurance information including name of insurance carrier, phone number, patient name, date of birth, social security number, insurance ID number and employer
  • Requests records as needed based on current protocols
  • Submits intake and records to intake specialist or administrative staff for review and disposition
  • Coordinates and schedules the patient for admission and documents in appointment book
  • Arranges transportation assistance as needed, reviews checklist with patient/referent
  • Discusses insurance outcomes with patient/referent, including copays, deductibles, detox/rehab benefit or arranges private payment and completes payment agreement form
  • Contacts referral source when bed date is scheduled
  • Fields all incoming calls and refers calls to appropriate departments as indicated
  • Other duties as assigned

 Requirements: 2 year/Associate's Degree and minimum 1 year in Chemical Dependency or in an office environment.
